Our Story
After more than a decade in corporate sales, our Owner and Founder, Josh Jolley, started Widespread Properties in 2016. Josh has been hands-on with construction his entire life, spending his teenage and college years, and much of his early professional career, building decks, framing porches, wiring commercial spaces, landscaping properties, and installing hardscapes. By the time he began flipping houses, Josh had built a solid foundation in construction, design, and property value enhancement.
After earning his real estate license in 2016, Josh purchased his first investment property in Charlotte’s Starmount neighborhood. In the early days, he took on one flip at a time, doing most of the work himself. Each project funded the next, and before long, he was running a successful single-family investment business. While that business continues today, Josh’s focus has evolved toward multi-family development.
In 2019, Josh seized an opportunity to partner on four acres along Charlotte’s Wallace Road. What began as a townhome project soon became something more. After acquiring several adjacent parcels, he assembled a 10-acre site, rezoned it for higher density, and paved the way for a 202-unit apartment community.
Leaning on his local roots, hands-on experience, and years in corporate sales, Josh brings a unique vision to real estate development — one that blends technical know-how with business insight. This combination gives Widespread Properties a distinct edge in identifying, acquiring, and entitling multi-family projects across the greater Charlotte area.
